Tom Brady has been appearing on the New England Patriots' injury report — almost mockingly so — with a right shoulder (probable) desgination, perhaps Bill Belichick's long-running, one-fingered salute to the NFL's request for transparency on a topic he roundly dislikes discussing.
But eyebrows were raised slightly when Brady missed Thursday's practice with what was listed as a calf injury.

Fear not, Patriots fans. Brady says he's G2G for Sunday's season opener on the road against the Miami Dolphins.
“Physically I had the day off, but I got a lot of extra film in," Brady told Westwood One's Jim Gray. I got a lot of extra mental reps in and walk-throughs and such and I’ll be ready to go Sunday.”
Brady, who slowly has morphed into a more handsome Belichick over the years, seldom reveals much in terms of injuries. But it's very possible that he's actually fine and that perhaps this was a scheduled day off for the quarterback.
Later in the interview, Brady left a little Gray area — see what I did there? — by adding that it's possible things could get worse between then and Sunday. But it's very likely that this mini-scare was much ado about nothing.
