The connection between quarterback and center is the most personal in sports this side of the two-man luge, and Tom Brady took a moment on Wednesday to illuminate that connection for the rest of us.
Brady has a keen interest in the center competition now going on in camp between Dan Connolly and Ryan Wendell.
"I love both Dan and Wendy," he said. "I love those guys. They work so hard. The center-quarterback relationship is a pretty special one. I've got my hands on their butts probably more than their wives, so it's a pretty unique trust and relationship you have."
Connolly had the job last year, but Wendell has played right guard for some time for New England as well. As such, Brady was careful not to express preference for either man, or either butt.
