This isn't quite the conspiracy theory of Michael Jordan getting food poisoning before Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals. But someone pulled a fire alarm in the Philadelphia Eagles' hotel early Sunday morning as they rested before their game against the San Francisco 49ers.
At 2:30 a.m. local time, Eagles players were awakened to the sound of a very loud alarm at the team's hotel. Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho poined a finger — jokingly, we think — at a devious but unknown 49ers fan prankster.
This certainly can't make Eagles head coach Chip Kelly happy. After all, he has said he wants his players to get 10-12 hours of sleep per night. He also has fitted them with sleep-monitoring equipment to monitor their sleep levels.
Eagles No. 3 quarterback Matt Barkley, a California guy, wasn't pleased with the homecoming welcome.
The 3-0 Eagles take on the 1-2 49ers, but luckily for the Eagles they have some time to rest up before the 1:25 PT kickoff.
