Late in the first quarter on the road against Michigan State, Nebraska was trailing 7-0 and working its way down the field in efforts to tie the score.
On a 3rd-and-8 play from the MSU 43-yard line, the stingy Spartans defense was showing a blitz pre-snap and it clearly affected Nebraska left guard Jake Cotton, who flinched and then hilariously fell on his backside.
You have to see this.
Obviously, Cotton was flagged for a false start and the Huskers punted two plays later.
Cotton’s penalty is fairly indicative of Nebraska’s night thus far. At halftime, Nebraska trails 17-0 and has gained just 85 yards of offense.
