In a “Film Room” segment for the SEC Network, Florida coach Will Muschamp sat down with ESPN’s David Greene to break down some game tape. But first, the two flashed back to a play Muschamp made when he was a safety at Georgia in the early 90’s.
The play, from the Bulldogs’ win over Georgia Tech in 1994, shows Muschamp undercutting an out route and making an interception. As a coach, Muschamp is known as a more rugged, no-nonsense kind of guy, but here he let loose and did a little dance for the cameras before leaping into a teammate’s arms.
Muschamp smiled and said he was “very loose in the hips” when he saw his celebration. Muschamp made a nice read on the interception, too.
You can watch the whole segment here. It’s pretty funny to see Muschamp watching himself make a play from 20 years ago.
Coming off back-to-back wins over Georgia and Vanderbilt, Muschamp’s Gators (5-3) host South Carolina on Saturday. A win would clinch bowl eligibility for Florida.
