Running back Chris Johnson, who was with the New York Jets last season, reportedly was shot in Florida Saturday night, according to Fox's Jay Glazer.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Johnson was in a car with friends when they were hit with gunfire. There were multiple casualties, but Johnson is expected to be OK.
Johnson, 29, is a free agent not expected back with the Jets next season after his option was not picked up by the team — a move that was made prior to this incident. He was a first-round pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2008 and is the league's fifth-leading active rusher with 8,628 yards, having rushed for 2,006 yards in 2009.
