When Virginia hosts Kent State at home Saturday afternoon, you may notice something extra on the shirts of the Cavaliers’ coaches.
While the team wears throwback uniforms, head coach Mike London and his staff will wear orange ribbons on their shirts to help raise awareness for the disappearance of Hannah Graham, a UVA student who has not been seen since September 13.
Graham’s disappearance has been on the minds of folks in the community. Virginia students organized a candlelight vigil for Graham Thursday night and now the Cavs coaching staff has organized this thoughtful gesture.
Graham, 18, was last seen in the early morning hours of September 13 at various locations in Charlottesville, Virginia, where UVA is located.
A suspect in her disappearance, Jesse Matthew, was taken into custody this week in Texas and extradited back to Virginia. According to CNN, police believe Matthew was last person with Graham the night she disappeared. He has a bond hearing in Charlottesville Court on Thursday.
