The Washington Nationals didn't get the result they were hoping for in Game 1 of their NLDS series against the San Francisco Giants, but they sure did get a memorable postseason highlight. Bryce Harper got the Nats on the board in their 3-2 loss with a monster homer in the bottom of the seventh inning.
It was hit to the upper deck in Nationals Park, a place not many homers go. Harper hit one there in April too. The guy who caught Friday's homer has already made a thread about it on Reddit.
As far as homers go, this one was majestic to look at. What might have been even better was Harper's postgame quote. He told Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post:
Throwing fuzz? I did what I do? Back-to-back verbal homers! But Harper seemed more concerned about his team's loss and his at-bat in the eighth inning, when he left two runners on base with the Nats down a run.
Another homer Saturday would help, that's for sure.
